Tim Boniface is a freelance jazz multi-instrumentalist and composer, a theologian, and Chaplain to Girton College at Cambridge University. Tim works mainly on saxophones and piano, but also on flugelhorn, guitar and other instruments. Alongside his standard jazz work, he has composed and released two jazz suites exploring biblical speech through instrumental improvisation - 'The Eight Words', a Jazz suite on the eight sayings of Jesus in St John's passion (2016) and 'The Infant' : a jazz suite for Christmas (2019). Tim's theological work on the transcendence of Jesus in Hans Frei and Dietrich Bonhoeffer was published in 2018 ('Jesus, Transcendence and Generosity'). He has lectured on theology and music, taught on church retreats and run community music projects.
