Helge Nysted is a piano player, composer, arranger and producer who for the last decade has been working with several of Norway's most renowned artists. He has been working as the leader of Siri Nilsen's band - Nilsen has become one of the most acclaimed Norwegian female singer/songwriters over the last few years, and her album "Alle snakker sant" was nominated for Spellemannsprisen (the Norwegian Grammy) in 2012. Over the last years Helge has been the musical director of several large productions in Oslo; shows or concerts that both include playing, arranging and conducting.

Together with his brother Tarjei Nysted he runs Dryhill Studios in Oslo. The two brother released an instrumental album, "Minner fra i dag", in 2002 to critical acclaim. In 2007, trumpeter Arne Hiorth and Helge Nysted released the duo album "Snow". Hiorth and Nysted has been touring extensively with this repertoar in the years after the release, with concerts in England, Germany, USA, Spain, Italy, Iceland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.

For several years Helge has collaborated with NY based bassist and composer Ike Sturm. This has resulted in several performances both in Norway and in the US, where Helge has played with musicians such as Gene Bertoncini, Clay Jenkins, Loren Stillman and Chris Dingman. From 2007-2014 Helge worked as musical director at the Royal Chapel Church in Oslo, where he arranged and composed music for the Sunday masses which are held by the student congregation. Since 2015 he has been working as a church musician in Modum, Buskerud.
